I am a Licensed Psychologist, Certified Clinical Trauma Provider, and adjunct Counseling Psychology professor and clinical supervisor at the University of Houston. Prior to establishing my private practice I was a full time staff psychologist at The University of Houston, and I have also worked in speciality hospital settings. My Ph.D. is in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. I also have a Master's in Community Counseling from Loyola. I have extensive clinical training and experience in somatic, cognitive, and contemporary psychodynamic approaches to treating relational trauma such as divorce, abuse, and betrayal, as well as attachment concerns, such as chronic relationship issues and self-esteem. I have also served as an expert consultant and supervisor for clinical training in trauma and trauma-informed psychotherapy.
My clients have shared they appreciate my unique brand of compassionate accountability and my students have shared they value my blend of expertise and approachability. I strive to be real, warm, and genuine so you're never left wondering what I'm thinking. As part of that, I believe that discovering your truth is one of the most powerful paths forward. My approach to therapy has been honed through years of professional and personal experience to reflect my love and respect for the art of therapy. I credit my many hours of personal therapy work for my genuine appreciation of what it takes to commit to this process. My hope in working together is you will feel a sense of belonging with me, and know that when it comes to divorce, relationships, and trauma, I do deeply "get it."
You'll also come to learn about me that I am a forever student, and as such, invest in continued education to bring to my clients innovative trauma-informed care. To date, I have completed the Clinical Trauma Provider course and associated certification, providing me with training on multiple trauma approaches an interventions. I have finished the intermediate year of Somatic Experiencing (a renowned and comprehensive trauma modality), and will be completing the advanced year toward certification. I have also completed Level One TEAM CBT and am pursuing through the Level Three certification now. TEAM CBT is the work of psychiatrist David Burns and is a dynamic cognitive therapy approach with wonderful patient outcomes! I delight in ensuring my patients receive up-to-date intervention and a dynamic experience informed by multiple modalities. Doing so also ensures that you receive a therapy experience is science-backed and curated to meet your individual needs.

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME
Growing up in the front range of Colorado,
I first learned how to ski when I was
three years old.
I LOVE to be outside. An ideal day would be spent
out hiking with my partner and our two dogs, at
the beach, or exploring a new beautiful location.
The things I treasure most: my relationships, tacos and coffee (not together, though), the outdoors, good books, laughing, my dogs, and art museums.
